Biologics

Biochemical substances or mixtures which comprise or result from the activities of a living organism. Biologics may be characterized to some extent by the composition of matter, but are more regularly characterized by the process of production which takes account of things like cell lines, nutrients and other inputs, process controls and separations methods. Vaccines, blood fractions, therapeutic proteins, and expansions of marrow or stem cells for transplant are examples of biologics.
